Killarney Lake

Location and Access

Killarney Lake is located in Kootenai County, Idaho. It is right next to Lane, Idaho, and a little over 30 minutes from Coeur d'Alene. This lake also flows into Frontier Creek and the Coeur d'Alene River.

The Spokane International Airport is 67.7 miles away in Washington and the Shoshone Medical Center is 24.5 miles away for easy travel and medical care.

Island Exploration

What is unique about Killarney Lake is that there are two separate islands that you can access in the lake.

The private Hidden Island is two acres in size and situated on the southwest side. Located on the northern side of the lake is “Popcorn Island,” also known as Killarney Island, which is approximately one acre in size.

Both of these islands are accessible to explore on and walk the trails or enjoy a picnic area with a scenic view.

What Killarney Lake Offers

Killarney Lake is approximately 500-acres and offers a multitude of outdoor activities for you and the family to choose from. The area is handicap accessible with no motor restrictions, a boat ramp, docks, restrooms, and campgrounds.

Fishing Opportunities

If you are someone that enjoys peaceful days on the water waiting for a bite, the fish species in Killarney Lake varies greatly. Fishermen can expect to catch bluegill, pumpkinseed, sunfish, bullhead catfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, and white crappie.
